In 2018, Shaun worked with Lin Coghlan to turn five novels by Arnold Bennett - Clayhanger, Hilda Lessways, These Twain, Anna of the Five Towns and The Old Wives’ Tale into an eleven episode BBC Radio Four drama,
China Towns spans forty years in the life of the Potteries from 1865 to 1905. Filled with smoke, grime, tyrants, victims, gritty social conditions and an exploration of the capitalist impulse, China Towns dominated the Sunday afternoon airwaves for the first half of 2019.
